Frequently asked questions

What should a rent receipt include?

Commonly: landlord and tenant names, the property address, the rental period covered, the amount paid, the payment date and method, and a receipt number. Some places have specific requirements, so check your local rules.

Where is my data stored?

Only in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Use Backup (JSON) to keep a copy or move it to another device, and Restore to load it.

How do I save a rent receipt as a PDF?

Click Print / Save PDF and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer in the print dialog.

How do late fees work here?

Enter any late fee collected with the payment. It is shown separately on the receipt and in the ledger. Whether and how much you may charge is set by your lease and local law.

What is in the year-end CSV?

Every payment for the selected year (and tenant, if filtered) with period, date, method, rent, late fee and total, ready for a spreadsheet or your accountant.

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. It's a record-keeping tool. Rules on receipts, late fees and rental income vary by jurisdiction; consult a qualified professional.
